Recovering a Primary Image from the Backup Image on an SRX300
Use the following directions when you log onto the SRX and get the following message:
Go To CLI
>cli
>request system snapshot slice alternate
Formatting alternate root (/dev/da0s2a)...
Copying ‘/dev/da0s1a’ to ‘/dev/da0s2a’….
The following filesystems were archived: /
Contact the customer and inform them you will be rebooting the SRX. They will not have internet for about 5 to 10 minutes but they will still be able to work on Polaris.
>request system reboot
Will reboot the SRX
You can go to your CMD and do a ping on the inside IP address of the SRX with a “-t” to check. When you begin receiving a reply, you will know that the SRX is back up.
Check to make sure the alarm is now off.
