Creating a New Single Sign on User on Polaris ST/UV with a Domain

  1. Create a new user in Windows using Active Directory - Users and Computers.
         -- Assign the user a password and be sure to assign Domain Admin Rights. (Member of) tab.
     2. On Polaris, assign a User using "User Security Setup"
         -- From the Master Menu...
             System Administration>Security>User Security Setup.
         -- Press ENTER to pass the password prompt.
         -- On the User ID screen, press F10 and ENTER to Copy User.
         -- Press F3 at the User to Copy prompt and find your user.
         -- At the New User Name, type the DOMAIN\Windows User you assigned in Active Directory and press F2. The Domain is all caps and the Windows name should be all small letters.
         -- The system will assign a password of XXXX 
         -- The new User will appear. Add the name, along with the remaining information you want to change like Group Code & F7 to add the correct default printer for the user. 
         -- Also, make sure that Autologin is answered "N" and New Pwd Next Login is answered "Y"
         -- Press F2
     3. Logoff and then logon as the new user. 
        -- When you get to the SB+ Logon, type the User ID entered in User Security (DOMAIN\User ID) and type XXXX for the password. 
        -- The change password screen appears. Press ENTER without putting a password in, meaning no password.
     4. From the Master Menu...
             System Administration>Security>User Security Setup. 
        --  Bring the user ID back up and this time, make sure that Autologin is answered "Y" 
        --  Press F2 and logoff.
     5. Logon the new user again. This time, once the USER ID and password is chosen, it should bring you to the Menu you setup.
